Most bloggers would like to earn some revenue from blogging, but many of them don’t know how to begin.
One of the best ways to start earning money from your blog is to
monetize it with various forms of advertising. Perhaps the best known
of these is Google Adsense, which displays adverts that are going to be
of interest to your readers. The problem with Adsense is that it tends
to be very visible and obvious as an advert. Fortunately it isn’t the
only option available.
A second method is to sign up to a website that pays you to blog about
a specific product or company. You make money from writing the blog
post, and the company gets valuable advertising from your blog.
One up and coming method of making money blogging which really looks
set to catch on is the use of In-Text Advertising. This is arguably a
much more effective way to display ads on your blog and start blogging
for profit, since they work in a very different way to how ads are
normally displayed.
Let’s suppose your blog has a post comparing different DVD players and
you decide to give In-Text Advertising a try. One or more relevant
adverts would be linked in to the appropriate text on that page, such
as ‘DVD players’ for example. That phrase will appear underlined and
in a different color so that everyone reading your blog will see it and
be tempted to click on it to see what it means.
As soon as they hover their mouse over those words a box will appear
containing an advert which is relevant to them. The reader can then
click on that link if they choose, to visit the advertiser’s website.
Every time they do, you earn some money from your blog.
As far as blogging for profit is concerned, this is a more subtle way
to promote products and services to your readers without taking up even
more space on the blog itself. You stand a much better chance of
making money blogging by using In-Text Advertising since it isn’t
pushing itself into your readers’ faces. You can present a well
thought out blog without overdoing the amount of visible ads you are
using.
This can result in a more loyal readership that has the ability to
choose whether they want to see the adverts or not. And natural
curiosity means that most people will at least look at some of those
ads – if not all of them.
