Shane Murray, CEO of Australia’s leading performance marketing group Viva9, today announced the launch of its new contextual web advertising service, Viva9 Contextual Advertising.
Sydney, Australia (PRWeb) February 13, 2007 - Murray says ‘Viva9 continues to strive for cutting-edge performance-based solutions for the Australasian marketplace. Research shows us that In-Text advertising is more effective than other Pay-Per-Click advertising, so for us this was the next logical step in providing our clients with a more complete set of solutions’.
Viva9 Contextual Advertising will incorporate Kontera’s ContentLink solution, a proprietary In-Text technology which currently serves several thousand online publishers, including a few hundred forums, blogs, product review sites and other forms of user-generated content worldwide. The technology analyses a publishers website in real-time, determines what the most appropriate topics of the page are, and then chooses keywords and advertisements that are most relevant to those page topics.
ContentLinks appear as distinctive links utilizing a unique double-underline format. When the site user mouses over the ContentLink an ad-layer appears containing the relevant advertising information. The prospective customer sees the text ad, complete with logo or other graphic elements, and only upon click will the user be directed to the advertiser’s website.
While contextual advertising already plays an important part in the domestic market, most notably through Google’s AdSense, Viva9’s new offering will be an Australian first in allowing the actual content of a website to serve as the advertising vehicle, rather than just the surrounding space.
Analysts Frost & Sullivan valued the total paid search market in Australia forecast to grow to $180 million in 2006. Of that, 37 per cent was in "contextual search" such as Google´s AdSense and Yahoo´s equivalent.
Viva9 Strategic Director, Peter Bojanac said ‘V9CA will allow advertisers to reach their most targeted and relevant audience through in-text placements, while simultaneously providing our thousands of publishers with a new stream of incremental revenue from their websites.’
Bojanac continues, ‘This new technology represents an exciting opportunity for new and existing publishers within the actual text for which the user is searching, rather than just on the periphery of that text, like other more conventional forms of online ad exposure.’
